Plant-based milk
A Healthy Choice
Cows' milk is usually high in saturated fat, and may contain pus from the cows' udders as well as other contaminants.
According to WebMD, plant-based milk can be a healthy alternative rich in calcium, antioxidants, and Vitamins A, B, D, and E.
Lower Environmental Footprint
Plant-based milk has a far lower environmental footprint compared to dairy, as detailed in this BBC article using calculations sourced from the University of Oxford's Joseph Poore,
Some have critcised the water footprint of almonds, or the land footprint of soy -- but the evidence shows that the environmental impact of plant-based milk is far lower than dairy.
No Animal Exploitation
Producing dairy milk requires female cows to be impregnated. In the UK, cows are forcibly impregnated and have their babies taken away, and are routinely mutilated. Male calves, who cannot produce milk, are killed within days of being born.
Plant-based milk avoids the animal exploitation involved in dairy production.
